Sherrod Brown suggesting Obama criticizing Warren criticizing his trade deal was sexist. I suppose this is the natural evolution for the party that has been defaulting to the "they're racist" critique for any criticism of the president the last seven years now that everyone is #readyforhillary.

I think every president should have trade promotion authority so trade deals they negotiate can receive votes in Congress without being waylaid by procedural nonsense.

In this specific instance we're looking to lower or eliminate tariffs with many of our leading trade partners, many of whom are rich countries that are ripe markets for imports, which sounds wonderful. It also will hopefully lead to closer relations with the major east Asian nations, either at the expense of China or ultimately bending China into the partnership as well. It seems like a good idea. I am glad the president is going so far out on the limb to promote it, and I hope eventually enough of his party gives him the support the bills need to pass.
