There still is congressional oversight. They have to approve it.

this is the same congress that voted 98-1 to guarantee Congressional oversight on the coming Iranian deal. amendment nonsense and all

apparently geopolitics need congressional authority but not international trade matters.

Except the Iran deal would effectively require a 2/3 majority to disapprove of it because Obama can veto any disapproval. A simple majority can disapprove of the trade deal, and Obama would be shit out of luck.

Any attempt to suggest there's more congressional oversight to an Iran agreement than TPP is nonsense.

And international trade is geopolitics. And international trade does need congressional authority.

Mitch & Orrin want it hustled thru without a whole lot of nasty discussion so you know it stinks to high heaven.

Barry, you're gonna be rich soon enough after you leave office -no need to start sucking corporate/banker dick this hard this many months before you're done.

I half believe POTUS knows how lousy the politics look, but also knows he can win a few ways by losing this one.
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

The backlash to Hersh's reporting is interesting. I don't think it has enough sources, and obviously the one source is a crank with an axe to grind, but the most logical thing coming out of it is that Pakistan actually knew bin Laden was in that compound. How could they not? Many people were wondering how Pakistan could possibly not know he was RIGHT THERE when the raid happened. In any event, Pakistan knowing he was there and the US doing the raid without Pakistani help are not mutually exclusive; both can be the case.

Rob O'Neill's reaction basically does prove that we executed him and there was no firefight at the end of the raid when we reached bin Laden. We don't have to continue to believe the debunked 'hid behind his wife with a weapon nearby' thing in order to also believe that we weren't led by ISI into an empty compound.

NOW president: Obama's Warren critique sexist

National Organization for Women (NOW) president Terry O'Neill on Wednesday called President Obama's critique of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) sexist.

O'Neill told The Hill she took issue with Obama calling Warren by her first name during an interview with Yahoo News published Saturday.

"Yes, I think it is sexist," O'Neill said. "I think the president was trying to build up his own trustworthiness on this issue by convincing us that Senator Warren's concerns are not to be taken seriously. But he did it in a sexist way."

Obama told Yahoo that Warren was opposing his trade agenda to further her own political brand.

“The truth of the matter is that Elizabeth is, you know, a politician like everybody else. And you know, she’s got a voice that she wants to get out there. And I understand that,” Obama told Yahoo.

O'Neill said Obama's "clear subtext is that the little lady just doesn't know what she's talking about."

"I think it was disrespectful," O'Neill said.

I think the clear subtext of O'Neill's complaint is she thinks Obama is an uppity black man for talking back to a white woman and is therefore racist.

the crop of people upset when Hillary lost, the PUMAs, are feeling their oats now, that's all there is to this. in any event, she seems like an accomplished person (O'Neill).
