Repealing and Vetoing Our Way Forward (Politics Thread)

I was busy yesterday, and an important part of maturity is learning to pick and choose when to bang your head against a brick wall.

So many people are so wrong about so many different things, but these papers don't grade themselves and this dissertation isn't gonna write itself and last week's The Challenge isn't gonna watch itself.

LOL. That's how I sounded on this message board 12 months ago. Now I just read for the entertainment value, mostly.

So Ron Paul is an anti-American treasonous piece of scum.

Throughout her time as chair, Wasserman Schultz has turned off colleagues, other top Democrats and current and former staff for a management style that strikes many as self-centered — even for a politician — and often at the expense of the DNC or individual candidates or campaigns. Many top Democrats, including some she counts as supporters and friends, privately complain about her trying to use the DNC as a vehicle for her own personal promotion, and letting her own ambition get in the way of larger goals.

Wasserman Schultz has a different sense of herself. According to people who spoke with her, when she sensed Obama was considering replacing her as chair in 2013, she began to line up supporters to suggest the move was both anti-woman and anti-Semitic.

Senate bid could be solution for Wasserman Schultz

That's the best. "Debbie, you're not great on TV, many donors seem to have a problem with you, you're not a unifying figure in the party, and many suspect you are using the DNC chair position to advance your own position rather than the party. We think we might want to move in a different direction." "Sexism! Antisemitism! War on women!" When all you've got is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

One can only imagine the insights we might benefit from should you train this same analytical lens on the machinations of the chairman of the Republican National Committee. Should you proceed in that direction, be sure to give special attention to his warm relationship with the American Family Association
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Well, the unpopularity is an objective truth at this point in time. I seriously would love to hear your take on the times article about ChooseNJ and Christie's campaign. (Not in a dickish way, genuinely interested)

Greece is staying in the Eurozone, get 4 month reprieve but have to present an economic plan within 2 days that is 'deemed acceptable' to its creditors. they have to get past this coming hump and they'll be OK, but I guess we'll see how/if they do it?

Just watched Graeme Wood in one of those annoying saturday cable news show "interview" - advotainment segments.

Gaaahhhh - he's less persuasive in person. I get even less now why his Atlantic article is getting all the fawning praise

Scott Walker wasting no time demonstrating he's not to be taken seriously as a Presidential candidate

drsmooth, TV, jersey (or anyone else on this board likely to read such things), I have been thinking for awhile now that there is/are papers - books evn - to be written on the discourse of freedom in the contemporary USA. I've found one article in a journal on this subject, which I intend to read, but wondering if there is more expansive (or just more) material out there. If y'all know of any, please let me know.
