Anyone get really awful battery life on their phone? (tried searching for cell phone thread but doesnt seem possible on mobile)
My battery drains so fast and even turning the brightness all the way down has done nothing.

Other things you can do:

-- Limit its exposure to the cold weather
-- Charge the battery when it's below 10%, and don't let it run all the way to zero
-- Change your email settings to check less often, synchronize only a few folders, etc.
-- Disable as many app notifications as possible
-- Remove any apps you rarely/never use
-- Switch vibrations to sounds
-- Limit the web browsing

Decent apps for Droids include PowerMax and one for auto brightness adjustment. But Ed hit the big one - turn off all auto-sync, especially Facebook, Twitter, and email.

Also, turn off blue toof and wiFi when not using them, else they keep searching for a signal

............ and battery life will still suck. I can't get thru 4 hours of use .... but at least I can idle for 24 hours without totally draining the battery. iPhone is almost as bad.

newer android versions and all ios6/7 only search for signal when a program asks it to(wifi, bluetooth, GPS)

edbots battery thing is a myth. you can let that sucker run down as much as you want. leaving it charged won't hurt the phone either.

the auto-sync stuff will get to it. most of my battery drain comes from google services and the screen.

Pretty sure Wifi will keep searching for a signal regardless of apps. My phone is always pointing out to me "Wifi networks available" whenever I'm out and about.

Update on my situation- all of the money is back in my bank account. That was fast.

This place opened up near my house dedicated to Magic The Gathering. Like an actual store with a bunch of tables set up where people come to play and have tournaments and whatnot. I thought of Soren when I saw it. Is this a common thing?

There's a comic store round here that seems to always have a game going on in the back of the room, but that sounds wackier.
