tsk-tsk, you missed where jerz explained how the whole "filibuster the judicial noms" tactical escalation began its bipartisan spiral around the time of the Polk administration, and how opposing practically every judicial nominee just because they have been nominated by a nominator you can't contrive any substantive advantage over is pretty much the same as opposing the nomination of an ideological freeky-deekay like Robert Bork

You just gave me an idea to register my business to vote and see what happens. I doubt it is an original idea but I am curious. This bit scares me though:

"I understand that any false or fraudulent registration may subject me to a fine of up to $15,000, imprisonment up to 5 years, or both pursuant to R.S. 19:34-1"

What the....

You could have given me a billion guesses and I never would have guessed that's what you were planning to do after the New years. Congrats! I grew up watching my mom's play/musical rehearsals 6 days a week for much of my childhood, so I know how much work that is. Good luck!

yes, very good read. kinda scary the parallels between Heritage's unbridled(and unfounded) confidence leading up to the 2012 election and this debacle. seems like they have no clue what the fuck they're doing.

95% said that they shared the pipe with Ford in the last six months.

it's worth noting that ford's popularity went up after the crack story broke. maybe obama should go on a massive bender.

this whole "romney would win the election now" is the height of a non-story, right? people tend to look much worse when they're under close scrutiny of the public eye. right now, obama is losing points because people are eating up this obamacare stuff. in a year, nobody will give a damn anymore and life will go on.

In a year, the insurance companies will raise the premiums on the exchange because the risk of that population was worse than expected. This is why the temporary website problems may create a tough situation for the success of individual market under the ACA. We'll see.

i think you're vastly overrating the general population's ability to care about anything that has happened over 6 months ago, but i agree that we will see.

I'm making the same prediction that many others are making, that the website problems will deter some people from signing up on the exchanges, and the people who are deterred will be a healthier set of people that the insurers were expecting to join. When the insurers have a riskier set of customers in 2013, they will raise their prices in 2014. Thus, people will think "OMG, my costs surged in 2014 under Obamacare. How is this better?"

Many people won't remember the failed rollout, but they will be reminded of its effect on price in subsequent years.

Do we have any evidence that the healthier people are being deterred disproportionately?
