Ask and you shall receive; a new [RANDOM THOUGHTS] fred

Any flexible spending account experts here? I just got off the phone with the benefits department here and I feel like my situation is too good to be true. My last day at this job is next Friday, 9/6. I have $300 in my FSA, but as of tomorrow I'll only have contributed $50 towards it via payroll deductions (our fiscal year is July 1 to June 30 and I've contributed $25 for each of July and August's paychecks). The benefits lady said as long as my claims are dated between July 1, 2013 and September 6, 2013 I can use the entire $300. She said this works out because so many people end up losing the money they contributed to their FSAs but did not use. Time to get some fancy new prescription glasses!
Another day, another box of stolen pens.

Bourbon street is somewhat horrifying. The strip clubs have what look to be 15 year old girls outside trying to get people to come in. The people who dress up are fucking weird. One guy was in a Homer costume, sitting on a trash can, grabbing his crotch, and giving people the finger. He had a tip bucket out like he expects money for that.

This place just isn't my scene I guess.

not much, I just played along and was very animated. He did a trick with toilet paper- he handed me my piece and I proceeded to blow my nose. "I'll do the jokes here" he admonished. Then the routine was a couple minutes long where I had to repeat his motions and then we broke into a square dance- I think he was pretty shocked that I followed right along.

you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

this is like saying Bob and Barbara's sucks cause you popped in at midnight on a Saturday when every frat boy is there. what city wouldn't suck while hosting the super bowl?

Bourbon Street wasn't my favorite thing about NO but I loved it. go on a normal weekend

I was on Bourbon Street last year, February 2012, and was shocked by how tawdry I thought it was. I thought there would be more than just low-rent strip joints.

Having said that, I had a few very fun nights in NO. Crazy town though. When I was there (for work), one of my co-workers who was stationed down there had just had a friend in to visit the week before. He made local headlines, because, while out on Bourbon Street one night, he got mugged by a group of girls with a gun (muggings are a daily occurrence in NO, evidently). They took his wallet and took off, after which he, being drunk and getting increasingly pissed about losing his wallet, decided to go after them, and successfully tracked them down, commandeered the gun, and held at least one of the girls until police could arrive. And he got his wallet back.
"I'm in a bar with the games sound turned off and that Cespedes home run still sounded like inevitability."
