There are a few things people should do--puppy mills and most breeders contribute to the over-population of dogs--pit bulls and I think labs are the most commonly euthanized breed. If you want a dog, adopt a shelter dog. Regardless of where you get your pet, you should neuter/spay the animal.

You could also donate money to shelters to help keep animals alive.

what made me think of it was Neko Case making a statement against shelters euthanizing which kinda seemed to me like attacking the symptom instead of the cause

Had to go way down the list of friends to find someone to play golf this afternoon, but it turned into an unexpectedly nice day so fuck it. He can combine words and say "you right, you right" as much as he wants as long as I'm out on the course instead of sitting on the sofa.

At least Joe Buck doesn't call undue attention to himself. The play was so damn exciting that I really payed no attention to Joe Buck. I couldn't hear him over my own screaming.
