Yeah I have a $500 deductible, too, but my insurance company fixes it free. Are we talking a chip or small crack? They like to fix those ASAP so they don't turn into $1,000+ windshield replacement claims

I think they contract out to Safelite, who can come out to your home/work and fix it quickly

windshield repair usually is covered by comprehensive, not collision. I had a good guy who did it in my driveway- i'll see if i can find his card, which was on my desk for eons

so my janky roommate just moved out after telling us yesterday he was planning on moving back to texas. he has his old job working in one of the best restaurants in the dfw area, but it's only seasonal. he moved up here and started at what is now the #1 restaurant in the seattle area and quit that b/c the head chef was kind of a dick, but that seems to be par for the course in his industry. he then went to an "irish pub" in renton, where they offered him the head chef job on the spot making twice what he ever has before, but he turned it down because he didn't want the responsibilities. ended up doing prep instead for $12/hr for the last 3 months before he up and quit yesterday. kinda crazy, but i guess some people just can't handle being in the real world.

he's been causing us a ton of problems at home. i think i posted about how we had some stuff stolen and we were all pretty sure it was him. for the first 2 months we lived here he did nothing but work, smoke synthetic pot, and sleep. he's generally been shitty with chores and keeping clean. tbqh, we're all kinda glad he's gone.

luckily, we have an iron-clad lease and a signed agreement we'd all split the bills so he has to continue to pay us rent and utilities until we find a new roommate, but i guarantee you all of this will be covered by his parents. at least he left behind his bed and a bunch of other stuff we can sell on craigslist.

i've never been around someone who handled the slightest bit of adversity this poorly. the last 2 days were a whirlwind of him packing and making up excuses for his failures and shortcomings. we basically told him that he needs to grow up and be tougher(in a nice way); but he just took offense to it, packed up his car, left his key on the counter, and sped off.
I like teh waether

I'm playing Cypress Point on August 21. I'm so happy I could cry.

For those who don't know Cypress, this is basically the hardest course to get on in the country, located down the road from Pebble Beach along the 17 Mile Drive outside of Monterrey/Carmel.

Cypress Point Club is a private golf club in California. The club has a single 18-hole course, one of eight on the Monterey peninsula near Monterey, California. The course is well known around the world for its series of three dramatic holes that play along the Pacific Ocean: the 15th, 16th and 17th, which are regularly rated among the best golf holes in the world.

The signature hole is #16, which requires a 231-yard tee shot over the Pacific to a mid-sized green guarded by strategically placed bunkers.[1]

Cypress Point Club was ranked #2 on Golf Magazine's 2011 List of The Top 100 Golf Courses in the World[2] and #5 on Golf Digest's 2011-12 list of America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses.[3]
