why don't more hdtvs come with split screen as an option? my neighbor had that growing up. by now i figured we'd be lousy with split screen televisions but you never see it.

Been at Hershey Park the past few days, they are doing their Christmas in July thing, which for the most part was really pretty lame. The best upside, by far, was that the bar in the hotel we stayed at, the Hershey Lodge, had mad elf on tap. I got rather rocked last night on it, it was awesome.

Really. I'd even settle for a like a little 1/8th size box at the top left where I could keep an eye on a ballgame

was outside smoking a cig and a bolt of lightning struck down what looked like to be around a mile from me. A glow of green illuminated from that area for about 6 seconds.

Had a strange 5 minutes on Fri night at happy hour. We were at a bar in Center City with coworkers, and it's a fairly young crowd there. A mid 40s black woman comes in, orders a PBR and sits by herself right by my group of coworkers. Since we came from work, I had a laptop bag with a laptop in it, as did a few other people. The lady seemed a little paranoid and sketchy, but of course, my white liberal guilt kicked in and I felt bad for even thinking that. So she finishes her beer, gets up quickly and leaves. I told the people I was talking to that she seemed sketchy and even joked about the white liberal guilt thing. Girl I'm talking to says her bag was right next to her and goes over to look through it. Yep, her purse is gone. She runs out to see if the lady is still in the vacinity, meanwhile, her boyfriend starts going through her bag to see if the purse was buried in it somewhere. There's all sorts of stuff in the bag and the guy pulls out her shoes and puts them on the bar. Bartender sees shoes on the bar and tells him to remove them. Boyfriend, already pissed about the scene, and apparently a total hothead, tells the bartender to not bother him. Bartender tells him to remove the shoes. Boyfriend tells him to fuck off. Bartender tells him he's gone. Neck tatted bouncer comes over and gets all aggro bouncer and ends up tossing him out a back door. Turns out the thief hopped in a cab to South Philly (paid with the girl's credit card) and spent $500 at Target.

So in a few minutes span, I witnessed so many deplorable human behaviors (some my own): racial profiling, liberal guilt, theft, meatheads, power tripping bartenders and bouncers, and girls who carry way too much shit in their bags.

dang

I'm with McNeal

maybe a reading group?

collateral random notes:

a) I'm recurrently curious about the 'training process' the thievess underwent. How do you learn the dos & don'ts of an inherently risky process like that?

I mean, stuff like why a PBR as the 'order something, but not something that gets other than Endless Summer's attention' beverage?

b) I'm betting she didn't buy home furnishings at Target

c) whyn't agitated boyfriend of victim really twist the bartender by explaining in a very loud voice "SORRY ABOUT THE SHOES ON THE BAR BUB, BUT YOU SEE WE WERE JUST ROBBED RIGHT HERE IN YOUR ESTABLISHMENT, AND DIDN'T WANT OUR SHOES TAKEN ALSO"

d) one of my favorite Geo Bush 43 moments was his highly athletic dodging of the middle eastern shoe tosser's footwear missile. The gleeful look on his face said "bring it on, Buster Brown!"

It's a long skinny bar with a drink rail about 8 feet away running parallel to the bar, so there was some space where our group had spread out, and pretty much our whole group was standing.

I've always kinda hated this bar but our office hangs there a lot, which will probably change now. It's a "dive" that is only like 4 years old, and with them getting all shitty over something like this just showed how it's no dive at all. This shit wouldn't have happened at Oscar's.

I know the owners a little bit and they're good people. It's not a bad place per se, I'm also just getting too old for this type of stuff.

That is pretty cool that he has a sense of humor about that sort of thing. A lot of actors probably wouldn't. He's had sex with Rebecca Romijn and probably many other hot women so nobody should really be laughing at him anyway. And Aunt Becky lookin hot.
