Honestly, I would not be surprised if pulling the Republicans to the right and subsequently losing elections isn't part of the business model for those guys.

Especially considering that Rush doesn't believe half of the crap that he spews. He only cares about ratings.

Long monkeycage post about how Gallup's turnout model doesn't reflect a new political reality--kids and brown people (and chicks!) love standing on line and voting.

An actual post from one of my Facebook - haha - "friends":

"to everyone who voted for Obama, the rest of us have left a nice present for you in your 401k account and invetments today!! hope you enjoy having 2% less money today!"

Everything about this post confirms every crazy, delusional, conspiratorial suspicion I have about the "1%" - which he was absolutely born to and which, despite being a total moron when I knew him, he continues to be in, because he had every connection in the world. I know many of my crazy delusions are just crazy delusions, but this guy would make me think they were all true if I only listened to him. I am sure if I asked him, he'd tell me about all the "hard work" he's had to do to get where he is. His Facebook profile pic is ludicrous too (not politically, just in a way that screams, 'I am a raging douchebag!!!!').

Another one, offensive, but not quite as bad because I know this guy never wrote this thing, he is just re-posting:

"Ineptocracy

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers."
"I'm in a bar with the games sound turned off and that Cespedes home run still sounded like inevitability."

Looking ahead--Senate, 2014. Vulnerable D seats? Arkansas, Louisiana, Montana, S. Dakota, W. Va, N. Carolina. Vulnerable R seats? Maine.

Probably not going to get a Democratic filibuster proof majority--might even end up 50-50.

Really have thought much about 2016 Pres--HRC, Elizabeth Warren for the Dems? Huckabee, Rubio, Jeb, for the Rs.

Also, while the 2014 Senate Map looks awful, 2016 Senate map is very favorable for big Dem gains.

Just saw this. Housh is correct, and it could actually make sense for a biotech to incorporate there.

our effective corp rate is, what, 13%? the top 10 companies paid 9%. Seems negligible at best.

We could sell Texas to Mexico (the parts without oil, annex the rest to Oklahoma and Louisiana). Use the money to pay down the debt and we won't need to make new flags.

But think of the Flag Making jobs we would create by adding Puerto Rico!
