The GOP-controlled Florida Legislature last year cut the number of early-voting days from a maximum of 14 days to eight.

there was no legitimate reason given. maybe as well have just said 'cause we want less people to vote'

That happens to me too. I would imagine Romeny's campaign is paying for that to constantly pop up on people's newsfeeds.

romney uses tax-dodging fund

In 1997, Congress cracked down on a popular tax shelter that allowed rich people to take advantage of the exempt status of charities without actually giving away much money.
Individuals who had already set up these vehicles were allowed to keep them. That included Mitt Romney, then the chief executive officer of Bain Capital, who had just established such an arrangement in June 1996.

The charitable remainder unitrust, as it is known, is one of several strategies Romney has adopted over his career to reduce his tax bill. While Romney’s tax avoidance is legal and common among high-net-worth individuals, it has become an issue in the campaign. President Barack Obama attacked him in their second debate for paying “lower tax rates than somebody who makes a lot less.”
In this instance, Romney used the tax-exempt status of a charity -- the Mormon Church, according to a 2007 filing -- to defer taxes for more than 15 years. At the same time he is benefiting, the trust will probably leave the church with less than what current law requires, according to tax returns obtained by Bloomberg this month through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The current investing strategy favors the Romneys over the charity because they get a guaranteed payout, said Michael Arlein, a trusts and estates lawyer at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP.
“The Romneys get theirs off the top and the charity gets what’s left,” he said. “So by definition, if it’s not performing as well, the charity gets harmed more.”

Kathleen Kane aint the worst. She beat Patrick Murphy and would be better than Freed, IMO. Eugene DePasquale is from York and going for auditor. if elected he's going to check out DEP (Dept of Enviro Protection) to make sure fracking is up to snuff.

Since you're from Philly area you should have already heard of Rob McCord, running for treasurer.

Current poll aggregator averages:

Pollster: O+.8
RCP: O +.4
Nate: O +2.3
Polltracker: O+1.1

Pew's final estimate:

Our final estimate of the national popular vote is Obama 50% and Romney 47%, when the undecided vote is allocated between the two candidates based on several indicators and opinions.

The woman running against McCord is kind of a attractive for an older woman. One of the main things the touts on her website is she made it so prisoners can't watch cable television.

George Will predicts 321-217 Romney landslide

Add Washington Post George Will to the landslide column along with Fox News Channel’s Dick Morris and the Washington Examiner’s Michael Barone.

On this weekend’s broadcast of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” on ABC, Will revealed his prediction and added a bonus surprise by saying traditional Democratic state Minnesota would go for Romney as well.

“I’m projecting Minnesota to go for Romney,” Will said. “It’s the only state that’s voted democratic in nine consecutive elections, but this year, there’s marriage amendment on the ballot that will bring out the evangelicals and I think could make the difference.”

is that a good thing?? serious question. I know we don't want riots and all, but seems like we don't want their punishments being "pacified" either.
