got four and a half hours with nothing to do in New York. what should I do? i was planning on going to the Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell on Jamaica Avenue but I'm having trouble finding confirmation that it's still there/open, and it'd take me 45 minutes to get there from East Village. so that dream is gonna have to wait til another day.

go to the MoMA

say you work at PMA and they'll probably let you in for free without asking for ID

YES DO THAT. The MoMA is great and you really can't even see everything in 4 hours.

Kinda.

A friend of my wife's father/daughter dance was to Send in the Clowns, which is way up there in wedding-inappropriateness. Her father was a professional clown, but still.

They are pretty conceited, so it really kind of makes sense that they'd want to dance to that. They had 250 people at their wedding, in a castle type thing place, and just wanted to dance in front of everyone while the music blares "no time for losers, 'cause we are the champions" is kinda what I feel.

weather's crappy today, but if it's a nice day & your 4.5 hrs covers a noontime, and you want to spend nothing, NY Public Lib is a great peoplewatching vantage point, either east or west sides. Also park ave up by the seagram building/churches. or the apple store, but kinda touristy
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

I don't really want to argue, but you can get mugged right on the strip in either. if you stick to tourist sections, the difference is marginal (or anecdotal, I guess), imo

I'm pretty sure it is. Though to be fair, the touristy areas in New Orleans are reasonably safe. However, it doesn't take much drunk to wander outside of the safe zone.

Look, I just want to go out to some nice dinners, get hammered and party, lay by a pool and look at chicks in skimpy bathing suits and bang my wife, repeatedly.

I'm here because my girlfriend is here but she's currently in class. I ended up killing a couple hours with Turntable and now her brother's here so we're smoking. I will try the MoMA thing sometime. Maybe tomorrow before I come home. Will that really work?

I'll probably run out the clock at a record or clothes store or something.

I would echo this--go to the Main Branch, 42nd and 5th.

And if this exhibit

http://www.nypl.org/events/exhibition/2 ... se-gallery

is what I think it is, the description doesn't even come close to doing it justice. I saw all kinds of neat things there--pages from the original typed script of Easy Rider, original Thelonius Monk compositions, lots of cool things.
