If he was joking, his delivery is terrible. Because it sure doesn't sound like he is joking (saw the tape on the Daily Show last night).

Well, I don't think he was "joking". Just speaking without thinking.

You watched this video, and thought he was serious about the "I don't know why they don't do that" line?

He was definitely joking, and it's not exactly a newsflash that Mitt Romney utterly lacks the ability to tell jokes.

I did (and just re-watched it). My impression was/is he was engaged in some light banter and the "I don't know why..." was a speaking-without-thinking injection. Quite possibly, a brain fart.

IOW, it's not an issue to seriously criticize, but one to make fun of.

Speaking of... I'm kinda disappointed we let the orange Mitt thing go so quickly, especially since I did a couple of photoshops I didn't get to post before orange Mitt went by the wayside.

I would not seriously criticize you for not realizing he was joking, but I will make fun of you for it

I just watched it again, and again I fail to see any evidence to suggest he was joking, except if you just think that it's pretty much impossible NOT to know why airplane windows don't open and then overlay that assumption on your interpretation of Romney's remark.

This is utterly unimportant, but really - what about his delivery, the context, any of it, provides any evidence that his off-hand remark there was meant sarcastically or in jest, other than your hope or belief that it was meant in jest?

I think we can all agree that he was joking, that the "joke" was not funny and that Ann's dress is hideous. It looks like she was attacked by Jackson Pollock before going on stage. Seriously though, I am glad she was not injured during the plane incident.

Peepin' some local action for a second, PolitickerNJ has a list of nine people who could replace Andrews in CD1 (should he decide to walk away at some point). The list includes Adler, Redd, Levin, Greenwald, Roberts, Sweeney, Lil' Norcross, David Mayer (mayor of Gloucester Twp) and Jim Beach. That is a quality list right there. Dana Redd? Are you fucking kidding me? The "its not what you know, its who you know" mantra is alive and well in Camden County.

quick, someone photoshop Mitt's head onto pinocchio and have him say "I wish I could be a real boy," or something like that. Karl Rove would make an excellent Geppetto.

The Republican Party of Florida is dumping a firm it paid more than $1.3 million to register new voters, after Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher flagged 106 “questionable” registration applications turned in by the contractor this month.

I knew he was joking! He made some funny jokes at the education forum on MSNBC. I disagreed with most everything he said though.

On August 31, Rasmussen reported that people identified themselves as Republican 37.6%, Democrat 33%, independent 29%. So why are the polls oversampling Democrats by anywhere from seven to 11 points? If you take every one of these polls and exchange the sample for what Rasmussen found, you find Romney up by anywhere from six to nine points -- and, in some cases, ten points.
