Being a fraction Native American is a lot more than most people can say. So there's that...

I would guess that some fractional NA ancestry is pretty common in the US.

And I forgot about the 24,000 who die from our use of coal. Better support that industry with our tax money, especially since we get over half a million asthma attacks per year on top of the deaths. Now those are results!!

we're on a need to know basis. We don't know his taxes or most of his policies because we are not privy to his lordship. We do know he likes war and rich people and fossil fuels and bankers. Other than that, not much.

Wait a minute, maybe I'm more like 75%-80% Native American. Family was here before the Revolution, and so were the "Native Americans", so........... Damn why didn't I check that box?!!!!

going back to that topic, does anyone know what the actual question was? Just like polls, that's huge. "Do you consider yourself" is much different than "Do you identify yourself".

Cars kill 40,000 people a year - better get rid of them too. Horses aren't as dangerous - only 20 people a year die from horse related injuries. We should probably kill Ann Romney's horse though, just in case.

On the ethnicity thing--I have a hard time defending Warren on this. For Warren to check a box (even if it's true) is at odds with the purpose of affirmative action programs. There's reason to believe Mrs. Vulture, and thus Lil' Vulture have some Native American ancestry. There's a possibility way back when I have an Asian ancestor. But there's no way that this has caused any of us to experience any kind of disadvantage than could be addressed by an affirmative action program, or that any of us would contribute to an institution's diversity.

Indeed, what Warren has done undermines important justifications for affirmative action.

agree with tv, but was she a terrible student or something? feel like she's a pretty smart lady to have gotten as far as she has, regardless of the shenanigans.

more importantly, she's doing decently in polls and did well in the debate last night.

There are much better options than coal. Coal sucks the life out of Appalachia.

I really like Warren and would vote for her in a second (we need more anti-corporate warriors), but checking that box wasn't the right thing to do. I fail to see, however, why it should be anything more than a one or two day story.

I thought what Mitt did to his dog was much worse because the callousness has shown up in many other areas and illustrates a serious character flaw. But I don't see that trend with Warren. It seems like an isolated incident.

It's hilarious though that the people on the board who told me to drop the dog thing believe this is some massive story that should be rehashed into the ground. "She checked a box!!! Grab the pitchforks!!"
