A Reading man was committed to Berks County Prison after police said he attacked another man with a steak knife during a fight over $5.
Reading police said Michael Rudy Jr., 28, was charged with aggravated assault and harassment after the stabbing in the 1100 block of Butler Street early Saturday.
Another man asked Rudy for $5 that he owed him just before 4:30 a.m., police said. Rudy said he didn't owe the man anything, so the man took a pair of Rudy's Nike socks as collateral, police said.
Police said Rudy got angry, grabbed the knife and stabbed the other man in the face near his eyebrow, leaving a large cut.
He then gave the man the $5, police said. Information on medical treatment was unavailable.
District Judge Nicholas M. Bentz Jr. set bail at $5,000

I thought of something today. WAR is a funny stat. Modern day pitchers like Doc who have seasons in the 7.0-8.0 range are really freaking good, but pitchers from the deadball era like Old Hoss (who had a 18.6) with 8.0 might not have been so good (right? Or did I miss something again?). Would it be worthwhile to have a normalized WAR? Like a WAR+? Adjusted for era, or something. I don't know just a (random) thought
