American just seems like a downgrade from Italian. normal deli ham is mostly useless, imo

If you're going to branch out from italian hoagies, why not try roast beef or turkey? Or go to one of those "upscale" sandwich joints and get something with prosciutto and roasted red peppers and mozzarella and balsamic vinegar? Another good sandwich is pastrami and swiss with cole slaw on rye or pumpernickel.

well, roast beef, corned beef, and pastrami is the Jewish, right? I'm just asking how people who get it often dress it

if I go to some nice place I'll get something weird, but I'm talking about when I just go across the street to Old Nelson's (who just destroy Wawa and Sheetz btw) and get a hoagie. starting to feel silly getting Italians 90% of the time. they also have specialty sandwiches but I get two meals out of the hoagie for 50 cents more

At the risk of grossing out the board, I like russian dressing on corned beef/pastrami sandwiches.

How are you not going to have kosher dill slices on your Jewish hoagie? I guess the only problem would be the added saltiness, when corned beef and pastrami are already quite salty.

Nothing wrong with getting the Italian 90% of the time. I usually mix it up a little, but the Italian has yet to be bested by any of the other normal qualifiers. The only advice I would have would be to fix up the add-ons and condiments. I usually go lettuce, onions, sweet peppers, and pickles, but I'm not afraid to mix up my pepper choice.

Corned beef, swiss cheese, onions, cole slaw, and thousand island dressing on a long roll. Pickle on the side.

Liverwurst, onion and mustard on rye. But not before a date. Or really, any human contact.

I always get an Italian sub, unless I go to capriotti's, then it's something with turkey. Either the bobby, cole turkey or capastrami. All are amazing.

Pro-tip for ordering an Italian at wawa: get the pepper jack cheese. I don't like the banana peppers, but I like my sub spicy the pepper jack will get the job done!
