ya, and that's kinda Stewart's defense mechanism. hey, the lead in for this is a cartoon where kids are farting on each other, etc. but you're right, he's much more than comedy he's satire, and he's smart enough to acknowledge the role that satire has had in shaping political opinions. Lenny Bruce, Jonathan Swift, Kubrick, etc.
I do appreciate what he does a lot of times, but maybe it's the contrast with Colbert that makes me view him as clumsy and inconsistent with his shtick.
