Not really sure why dems would vote for Kane. If Corbett busts unions there's a coin flip that she's on board.

I think Murphy is better as a legislator.

And he's going to stay in that relatively small role now for the foreseeable future. Stupid imo

How does super liberal Pac reconcile the whole "gave money to Corbett" thing for Kane?

I was genuinely shocked Murphy wasn't the favorite. By him losing here, isn't his career essentially over. You can't lose tice can you?

She was being politically expedient from what I can tell. A bad sign, but I think her views on the role of the ag in regards to the consumer and company is pretty good.

The AG should be one of the more apolitical offices, IMO. But they should aggressively fight for fairness in all forms.

The irony being that even the Virginia General Assembly doesn't follow the Virginia plan.

Still kind of hope the results are effed up. Why are 5x as many people voting for Romney in PA than NY? Under 1% of state population voting in the GOP primary?

There was an amusing item in the NYT about how the Upper East Side zip code that's accounted for more Romney donations than any other in the US (and had same distinction for both Bush and Gore in 2000) might have had a single-digit number of votes cast yesterday.

Less amusing to me is the public money wasted by the multiple primaries.

Any office that is filled through elections is going to be political. The Attorney General's office is a springboard to governor or national office. If you like Murphy, that was a really strange vote pac.

So, since Republicans took control of the House, median income has dipped after showing a bit of recovery.

Recessions are just defined as 2+ quarters of declining GDP, if my economics memory is right. That does not mean that a recovery has got us back to where we were, just that economic activity (Consumption + Government Spending + Investment + net exports) is not decreasing. It's kinda arbitrary, and not necessarily a measure of prosperity.

Marion Barry at it again.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/dc- ... story.html

“[I]f you go to the hospital now, you’ll find a number of immigrants who are nurses, particularly from the Philippines,” said Barry (D-Ward 8). “And no offense, but let’s grow our own teachers, let’s grow our own nurses, and so that we don’t have to go scrounging in our community clinics and other kinds of places, having to hire people from somewhere else.”

I feel so bad for DC and of the minorities of this area. DC desperately needed a minority leader and instead they got Marion Barry. I just hope the people will one day stop giving him a free pass.
