ps - there is no possible chance of me voting for Romney, none. I just don't want to read about dogs.

If you noticed any of the other times this came up, I related it to some of the many other instances where Romney has shown a lack of empathy or a carelessness for the well-being of others. By itself, it means very little. But when his whole career is peppered with stuff like this, it means much more.

And if you don't think it matters to people, then you obviously haven't seen the polls which show that between 30-40% of people say the dog thing makes it less likely they will vote for Mitt. That's significant.

and if you don't want to read posts, just skip them. You're a big boy.

I really just don't like the idea of some guy who abandoned America to tell me what to think like you did. But hey, to each their own.

The polls are shit and you know that. Every single one of those people was already voting for Obama. Every single one.

Jeff, I have had to watch you ruin more threads than any other poster on the board, so just shut up and find someone else to take out your frustrations on.

Moving abroad for a few years to travel and save some money = abandoning America?

I see you're another person who has trouble with false equivalencies. If I really abandoned America, I wouldn't care who was president, right? Think before you post. And didn't you live in switzerland for a while?

Also, I never told you what to think. You very well might be the biggest narcissist I've ever met. It's not all about you.

Dogs Against Romney
Hi, I'm Rusty. Mitt Romney is mean to dogs. Help me get my message out about the Mitt Romney dog on roof story. Putting a dog on the car roof is abuse. Remember Crate-Gate. I ride inside. Mitt is Mean. Contribute to DogPAC.

Image
(a-hee-hee!)

BTW, 'twas Noot that started the dog fight with his anti-Romney "For the Dogs" ad containing clips of Mittens talking about strapping doggie to the car roof for road trips. So the right should't blame the left for this, it was one of their own that started it. Besides, we wouldn't even know about "crate-gate" if Mittens didn't wax nostalgic about it in front of cameras like a dumbass... which along with “I like being able to fire people" et al gives a glimpse of Mitt's character and political buffoonery.

some ahole apparently told him he wasnt 'saved' (basically telling his boss he's going to hell), so he's now donating money through his PAC to an outsider trying to unseat the guy. Cantor and Boehner disagree because Boehner just wants to keep the majority, and Cantor took this borderline anti-semitism personally, obviously.

got a feeling cantor wanted this question based on how he answered it. he hardly side-stepped it. good on him. screw idiots. obviously most of the party isn't anti-semitic since he's the #2 in the house, but some of these more conservative newbies riding the tea party wave hold some very fundamentalist views, and it's pathetic they have a voice in our government. and, to be fair, guys like cantor kind of brought them into the fold.

Manzullo already lost his primary to Kinzinger. It was an incumbent on incumbent thing due to Illinois redistricting.

Manzullo was in the House when Cantor got elected.

the EPA does something great, no one gives a shit:

Oil and gas companies will have to capture toxic and climate-altering gases from wells, storage sites and pipelines under new air quality standards issued on Wednesday by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The rule is the first federal effort to address serious air pollution associated with the natural gas drilling process known as hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, which releases toxic and cancer-causing chemicals like benzene and hexane, as well as methane, a powerful greenhouse gas.

The standards were proposed last summer in response to complaints from citizens and environmental groups that gases escaping from the 13,000 wells drilled each year by fracking were causing health problems and widespread air pollution.

She said the new rule would reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds by 190,000 to 290,000 tons per year and toxic air pollutants by 12,000 to 20,000 tons a year.

The agency said that the industry could meet the standards by deploying existing technology, and that nearly half the wells drilled using hydraulic fracturing already had the gas capture equipment, known as “green completions.”

The agency said that once the rule was fully effective, in January 2015, the industry would save $11 million to $19 million a year because drillers would be able to capture and sell the methane that is now burned off, or flared.

not a fan of how long it will take, but it's a big step that helps everyone. a REGULATION!!!

Attacking Romney for his ties to polygamy when Obama's father was a polygamist. Attacking Romney for cruelty to dogs while Obama ate dogs. Obama Biden 2012 - Anything Your Guy Did, Our Guy Did Worse!

That's actually polygny not polygamy. (the more you know)

Yes, both candidates have unique backgrounds. The difference is that one side has a sizable portion of it that thinks a candidates background negatively impacts his candidacy, while the other just uses it as fodder on commie late night talk shows.

You gotta give this eating dogs thing up. It's really silly, on par with saying Obama doesn't understand marbury v Madison.

Reading back through this abortion of a thread, I actually looked up polygamy and "polygny" (it's actually polygyny) on the trusty Wikipedia. Polygamy is the generic name for a marriage which includes more than two partners. So Obama's father was a polygamist. Polygyny is when a man has multiple simultaneous wives, which would be the case for Obama's dad. Polygyny is the name for a common subset of polygamy. The other subsets of polygamy are polyandry, when a woman has multiple husbands, and group marriage, when husband(s) and wives all live together. But all three situations are commonly referred to as polygamy.

The more you know.

Hatch just barely missed hitting 60% in the Utah GOP convention, so he has a primary. He''s in better shape than Lugar probably to survive it.

I think Morris liked to suck girl toes. I don't think that makes him gay.

Our surprise nominee in UT-04, one of the best pick up opportunities in the country.

Running on a 'free to fail' platform. That's some good stuff right there.
