The topic always swings back to food, so if you post about that, you'll be OK.

I think we are going to move to Charlotte. I can't decide though... Really my only hang up is my parents, if I move that far away, I'm afraid I'll only see them when I come visit them, and that is just going to cause angst all around.

But Charlotte, what you guys think?

I get to drive the family, including a 2 year old and a 4 year old, from the Annapolis area to the Daytona area later this week. See myself pulling large quantities of hair out once we reach the North Carolina border...

I lived in Charlotte for a summer back in 02. You can get a huge house for not a ton of money. Traffic's really bad on race weekends. Decent amount of culture, food scene is just alright. Will be hard to get decent pizza. Good BBQ though. Typical suburban strip mall layout. Lot of money from the banking sector when it was doing well. People are generally pretty friendly. Not a bad place to raise kids.

Lots of transplants and not a lot of people native to the area, so you'd fit right in.

My parents live in Richmond and I live in NYC. I see them maybe 2-3 times a year now, same with the in-laws. If they're used to seeing you a lot, it may cause issues if they end up seeing their grandkids less than they want to or are used to.

I'm not sure if I'm being over-sensitive here but is it implied that they won't feel the need to come visit you? Who will have the angst?

Citing the example that innocent does not mean the same thing as not guilty, I use the negative of terms at times to be more precise in my language because I do not want to say the affirmative of that negative term that I used. Sometimes that requires me to use multiple negative phrases rather than affirmative phrases.

I'm sure you'll get over it.

jeez-us andy, i'm fighting with like 97 people on this board, we can't be fighting too. I just saw a lot of negatives in your posts and busted your balls about it. I've never run into a triple negative by an intelligent person before.

Thanks lethal.

Yeah, we see my folks maybe once a month on average, so it would definitely be less than that, but I'm thinking we'd come up to nj for a week every year, and we would like to get them to meet us in obx or myrtle beach for vacation. So instead of a dozen day trips a year we'd wind up spending like two weeks a year around us. My inlaws, I don't worry about, they love to travel wed probably see them as much as we do now.

We started looking at houses online, and it really is amazing what you get for the money. We want to rent a house rather than buy right away, and for a couple hundred less than we pay now we found places that are like 1000 sqft bigger and way nicer than what we have now. On top of that, the schools are embarrassingly bad here in Wilmington so we are gonna have to go private school if we stay here, and fuck that.
Glad to hear there is culture, that's the thing I really like about this area, we have memberships to all the local museums, and we are out just abou every weekend doing that.

Well. It's sort of hard to explain, my mother has some psychological issues and can be tough to deal with as a result. So the angst would mostly be in dealing with her. Also, her parents never came to visit her when we had to move away, we always had to go visit them, and she has the same idea. We should always be the ones to visit her so she doesn't have to leave the house. My dad does not share this opinion, and he counter balances her to some degree, but when she digs in she's a pain in the ass about it all. That's the short version.

Sausage and peppers is usually Italian sausage, right? Not a big fan. Now, make it with bratwurst or kielbasa and you've got yourself a sandwich
