The "What's the most you've ever eaten in one sitting?" thread on Fugees is pretty decent. I could see it taking some twists and turns.

Sorry, SK.

ONE of 'em doc. Bucky's a complex man of many parts.

Visited the Hq and museum of the worlds first municipal fire service, set up by a guy called James braidwood. Now I want to find a decent biography about him.

Ah, interesting, thanks for sharing that. Never knew of the dude (American superiority complex likely limits how much he's mentioned stateside).

Smoothy, that would only be true had he omitted the word "spiritual"....

Going to the FI today, we passed the Puerto Rican day parade going down the parkway. At one point I heard very, very, VERY loud pre-recorded music, so I looked up and down to see the float carrying the sound system. None to be seen. I mean this was glass-breaking, rump-shaking loud, but still pretty clear and not muffled. Finally found the source. I kid you not- a four-door sedan cruising with all four doors open and a sound system taking up most of (maybe all of) the back seat. I ROFLd.

Thanks for the sympathies, guys. We knew she had Lyme's disease for awhile, but no idea it was this bad. She definitely wasn't herself when I was back home, wouldn't fetch or go for walks, just sad to see any animal deteriorate before your eyes.

Why do they make a big deal about movies breaking box office records? it costs like $12 to see a movie nowadays, 10 years ago it was $8, if the same number of people see the movie at $12 guess what, it's gonna break the record. Fewer people could see the movie, and it could break the record. Why should I care about this anyway?

So I gotta learn how to drive a train. Well, not really, But sorta. The Kid found the "train simulator" called OpenBVE, and hoodwinked me into installing it on his PC. I gotta tell ya, it's pretty amazing. It's not just "stop and go", but has all the operator systems that the real trains have. There's many, many different trains- electric and diesel- to choose from, as wekk as lots and lots of routes. To start up, you have to run through the exact self-test sequence. Raise the pantograph if it's not up (there is a panel indicator in the exact simulation of the real console). Work the accelerator- apparently called a "reverser" on a train- and "gearshift" to navigate inclines and hills, without going too fast. Run over electronic "checkpoints" in the track, which can automagically slow you down or apply brakes if you're not compliant with the speed limit. Took me about an hour to get moving and to the first station.

Pretty cool stuff.

Does it simulate toxic chemical clouds when the train derails?

Bucky,

I illustrated what it is like at the Ivy Ridge stop in the morning.

If you can't read the top right portion, it says "Late for important job."

I think your training is complete.

You are conducting the train.

The person in front of you is trying to cross the tracks of an oncoming train because they need to get to their extremely important job.

I've seen this happen 1/2 dozen times.
