It was pretty damn impressive for the Penacoli rumor to get so much traction in the time before the inferwebs.

I keep doing a double take, thinking I'm seeing the cover shot from "The Wild, The Innocent, And The E Street Shuffle" on the back of SEPTA buses, but it turns out it's just Housh's employer pushing their "Rembrandt and the face of Jesus" exhibit.

I got a voicemail today from my dentist office receptionist TELLING me to move my appointment from 10 to 9:30. I called back and told them I can only come in on the agreed upon time, and she tried to give me attitude. What is with this shit? Shouldn't they be the ones catering to me? It is a service industry, and they act as though I need them more than they need me. There is no dearth of capable dentists in the greater Northeast area.

Got um

Just saw your post. We have a guinea pig, had her for about 3 months or so. They are fun little animals, let me know if you have any questions about what you need, or what they eat. They love veggies, but you gotta be somewhat careful with what you give them, too much of certain ones will mess them up, but we give ours grass clippings from the yard, and the LOVE dandelions and other weeds too.

What kind of cage did you get? You can build your own for much less than the ones in the pet store and it's really, really easy. Another thing to consider is getting a second one. We started out with one, but after reading about it and observing her, they are really skittish and afraid when they are alone, but if you have two (or more) they are a lot more social and comfortable around people. It's really cool when they get comfortable and they "week" at you to pick them up and stuff.

They're friendly, too. But they have this annoying habit of spreading the empty cans across the driveway, so when you pull up you have to get out and move them in order to get in. And my street has two traffic lanes with no parking lanes, so it's somewhat precarious. Would I be a jerk if I called and complained, or should I just grin and bear it?

Definitely just take it up the ass.

so yesterday afternoon the recycle truck came, and the dude made a second effort to ensure that the can was placed at the far edge of the driveway.

I wonder what his screen name is.

How much, if at all, are you supposed to tip the people that bring you takeout food at the curbside places like PF Changs, Outback, etc...?
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

good stuff. my gf picked him up yesterday so she did all the talking to the people at the pet store. they gave her a list of various fruits and veggies to feed him. they also mentioned raisins as a treat once or twice a week. good to know about the dandelions and weeds, hell that'll be easy enough to get for him. we just bought the biggest cage they had. it still seems small to me, so i might look into building a bigger one sometime in the near future.

so far he's been skittish and afraid. he runs and hides in his igloo whenever i talk to him or approach the cage. we discussed buying another one as a companion, but the pet store people said it wasn't a good idea since he had been living alone there. they also said to let him get comfortable for 2 or 3 days before handling him, but others who have owned them told us to handle him right from the start. i just hope he starts to warm up to us soon and becomes socialable. glad there is a fellow guinea pig owner on the board.
