newt ginrich was asked about personal mandates for health care and basically said he just cared about beating obama no matter who the nominee is. they are all on a team trying to take him down.

This debate has been pretty entertaining so far. The POLITICO questioner sucks though.

Why host a GOP debate and then trot out a panel of Sharpton, Ed Schultz, Maddow, Chris Matthews and Lawrence O'Donnell after it's over?

I watch Phillies games on my computer with mlb.tv. In a weird place where ESPN/MLBN games are blacked out for being in market but don't get CSN.

It probably has something to do with the network that carried the program

Mitt absolutely won the debate tonight, btw. People tripping over themselves to declare Perry the clear frontrunner need to take a few breaths and let the field settle in and see how he takes a few punches.

As a sidenote, I hope dajafi didn't put any serious money on his longshot Bachmann to be nominee bet idea. Bhaha.

That was Paul! Not even I'm that far gone into despair... I found it astonishing and horrifying that *anybody* could take Rep. Bat Shit seriously as an aspirant to leadership of the Free World. She definitely channels the rabid Christianism and utter hatred for, well, folks like me that animates a big part of the Republican base, but at some point The Stupid becomes impossible to ignore.

I have no strong sense of who will get the nomination. There was something on the internet tonight describing Perry as the Republican id and Romney as the ego; that's always a tough contest to pick.

I was curious last night when I checked all the major outlets for coverage of the debate. NBC, FOX, ABC, CBS, CNN... nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Next tier... PBS, TNT, Foodtv, DIY, MTv... nope, nope, nope, nope, and nope. I really didn't care and preferred to watch the game, but I would not have guessed that the often maligned MSNBC had the broadcast. That is what I would call a major event. Wake me in November or maybe February.

The current DC mayor Vincent Gray, trying to capture the unflinching support that Mayor for Life Barry held for so long in that city, finds himself in yet another scandal. Deputy chief of staff Andi Pringle resigned amid a investigations around her participation in voting fraud by voting in a DC primary while a Maryland resident AND that she was working for herself in DC without a valid business license in any state or jurisdiction. One of her focuses was, of course, that she was charged with working on ethics and corruption issues.

Vincent Gray has to be the stupidest mayor DC has anointed yet. Clearly he is befuddled at how to make a quality decision.

Are you sure you're not confusing dajafi with me? I know I stopped talking about it when it became somewhat plausible.

MSNBC might be the worst network ever. I think its target demographic is the mentally ill, and anyone who watched last night's debate really should seek therapy or something. I think it's quite possible that the typical MSNBC program does more harm to liberalism than anything Fox might run. There's a lot more to life than 24/7 politics.
