I'd be pissed about that, except that airlines probably need the money more than most Americans or the US government.

How about that

Does this reflect that, in light of the alternatives, you're maybe re-thinking your enthusiasm for a one-term Obama presidency, or merely that someone sent you a picture of this shit-kicker, and you thought it was funny? Which it is, in its own way
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

She's not running and wouldn't be the nominee even if she ran. I just thought the picture, well the poster, was absolutely amazing. Someone made that.

I read something this weekend about the essential similarities between Obama and Romney--I think the implication was that ultimately neither has the courage of his own convictions, and that they'd likely be similar as presidents.

This strikes me as incorrect--not the premise, but the outcome. The reason why is that the same external force--a deep-pocketed, well organized, reason-resistant and borderline-fanatical set of right wing advocacy groups--plays on both. In the case of Obama, essentially a moderate to conservative Democrat, this pushes him to where Romney probably starts: toward a presidency resembling that of George H.W. Bush. In the case of Romney, I think it would make him a not personally convincing Rick Perry imitator.

Eh, I have a feeling Palin will run but won't stay in the race. Bowing out saying she needs to care for her son with Down's until he's school age (or some other excuse), and we'll see her pop up again in 2016. This way she's still in the picture and stays in the good graces of her fans, and continue to travel the circuit and suck monies from her fans. She craves the attention and adulation and doesn't want to relinquish that.

i personally find it best to deter free speech by referring anyone who disagrees with one's opinion as a nazi or racist.

this is quite comical...

i have to show a state issued id to purchase alcohol, cigarettes, and lottery tickets yet i shouldn't need to have one while doing something a little more important such as voting?

I don't have to show an id to purchase alcohol. Except at Buffalo Wild Wings.

you live in AZ, where it's ass-simple to pop a cap in just about anyone's noggin

you're surprised stuff is effed up there?

I wouldn't be surprised if half your qualified electorate wasn't aware it was eligible to vote

Re: the booze/cigs examples (which have been posited a couple of times)... You do know it's not to verify who you are, but how old you are, right? It's a specious comparison.

It's not a perfect comparison, and clearly there's a rights vs. privileges debate that's important here too, but your prove who you are not how old you are point makes it more important that ID is used for voting, not less.

Maybe I missed this somewhere in here (I did look back a little), but Michelle Bachman's campaign chair resigned. He cited his age versus the demands of a campaign, then (and I cannot guarantee that it is editing magic as I heard it on the radio) he basically outlined that it is a two horse race between Romney and Perry. I kind of laughed because his delivery was a little like he walked rather then back a loser so he can keep his hand in the game credibly.
