A strong disadvantage in this republican field, he's a minority.

Should be light out in Tripoli in about an hour and a half. Hopefully things don't kick off then, and the Gaddafi people realize they've lost. I imagine this has another bout of ugly before it's over though.

Eh everyone is lucky they are essentially using WWII technology. If this was in a second world nation we would have been looking at one of the worst genocides in history.

Not necessarily political commentary about our internal dysfunctions, but I was a lot surprised to learn that the new Dr. Martin Luther King monument sculptures were made in China and transported over. Yes the sculpted is a master, but it is sad that this was designed and sculpted in China then assembled and finished here.

I guess there has been its fair share of other controversies around this as well. One of the largest that has been swept under the carpet is that the King family reportedly required a payment of $800K to use MLK's name and likeness for the fundraising materials that were created and distributed.

What we ended up doing is setting up a system whereby we did cut by $1.2 trillion upfront, the deficit over the next 10 years. And we set up a group of senators that have to come up with another $1.2 to $1.7 trillion in savings or automatically there will be cuts that go into effect in January to get those savings. So the savings will be accomplished. But as I was talking to some of your leaders, you share a similar concern here in China. You have no safety net. Your policy has been one which I fully understand -- I’m not second-guessing -- of one child per family. The result being that you’re in a position where one wage earner will be taking care of four retired people. Not sustainable.

So hopefully we can act in a way on a problem that's much less severe than yours, and maybe we can learn together from how we can do that.

Say what, Joe?

More and more, I think he's the GOP's version of John Kerry.

That'd be fine. Kerry would've won if Bush was as unpopular as Obama is now.

"Romney plans to quadruple size of Calif. home" Reminds me of a company my buddy works for. The announce a freeze on earnings last year while the President (co-owner) levels his house while buying the one next door to live in while he builds his dream home on the lot (tear down in a place that has plenty of available land, go figure), and his sister, who is an officer of the company, embarks on building out a gourmet kitchen with 4 ovens and all Viking commercial grade appliances. People are stupid and they think that no one could be possibly as bright as they are while the play out their self serving string.

One thing that causes pause is to wonder why he did not just build a mega estate in Florida? Much friendlier state to own property I believe.

Lets be honest, is there a politician out there at the moment that anyone actually likes? That you would trust with anything you cared about? They are all self serving, egomaniacs. You?!? You are just one of 'those' people.

John McCain basically blamed the victory in Libya on President Obama

“We…commend our British, French, and other allies, as well as our Arab partners, especially Qatar and the UAE, for their leadership in this conflict,” they write, “but we regret that this success was so long in coming due to the failure of the United States to employ the full weight of our airpower.”

our one successful war and it somehow wasn't a right approach
