Couldn't go to the parade because no other TA would cover my class.
One of the TAs was supposed to make it up to me with a CHORCH and introducing me to a fine young lady, but instead bailed on his own party.
In the end, my friend who went to the party with me got laid and I had to take the bus home alone.

SHOULDA celebrated better.

I forgot how crappy that would have been had I still been taking classes. That was when I was bouncing at Tony's just to make rent money 'til I moved back home, and I was actually already supposed to miss work Friday night to go see Of Montreal at the Electric Factory (making it part of those 24 hours, coincidentally). After the Game Four win I decided I had to get home. Wasn't missing that thing for the world. So I begged my boss to let me miss an extra couple days of work and make it back Saturday. He did, I jumped on a Greyhound, got pissed they didn't finish Game Five the first night, got nervous when they postponed it a second night, and then celebrated for two days straight after Wednesday night. I got so goddamn lucky. If it had gone six games, I would have missed it and wasted my whole week.

Oh man, I forgot a sad chapter in my story... I was in Philly for game 4. hell, I was at the sports complex, but that was because my sister bought me Who tickets at the spectrum for my birthday that night and I promised to take her. Then I have to teach a class the morning before the parade because the game is delayed twice. Actually, I was bowling during the 7th and 8th innings of that game. What a weird week.

part of the reason I was so upset about Game 5.1 was that my friends from the suburbs all got their asses down to Center City (which is a rarity) and we holed up at Good Dog, a block away from Broad Street. It was packed and it was electric. That was such a cock tease.

So for Part Two I stuck around at home because otherwise my mom was gonna be by herself. So I watched it with her. That's probably the best moment I've ever shared with her.

I came up to Philly for the weekend, watched that delayed game three at Werthless's house. I think I might have watched game four there too and taken the train back to DC early Monday morning? For some reason I remember being there for the Blanton homer, but Wikipedia tells me that was on a Sunday, which makes being in Philly for it improbable.

God that delay between game 5.1 and 5.2 was so fucked up. One of my bosses at work had season tickets, and she just stayed in Philly for the whole thing. Luckily we didn't have any funding, because if we did, I'd have been working my ass off that week and not been able to watch baseball/drink/enjoy myself. Watched the last game, both parts, at my apt with the roommates, one of whom is from Conshy and is a Phils fan. When we won I cried more than a little bit, and the roommate's girlfriend probably hasn't respected me since.

A friend and I cried after Game Three of the '07 NLDS in front of a bunch of girls. It was described later as "adorable," which is probably the last thing I ever wanted to be.

Reading the Game 4 Game threadt it's pretty clear I was at Werthless's because I haven't posted yet by page 50.

when ptk rises he should make a poll about which you enjoyed more: the 29th or the 31st. to me it has to be the game, I don't care how many beers you drank or chicks you did in the butt at the parade. those three innings were just...perfect.

(except for hamels losing his 5th win)

Sheesh. Tough call. Parade day was bliss from wire to wire. But yeah, the game gave a higher high.

I'll never forget how that montage of playoff highlights turned the crowd from anxious/negative to completely jacked. And it being only three innings had everyone on their feet and jovial the whole time, like a college football title game.
