I've heard that taking too many showers is bad for your skin.

use dove lotion soap. that stuff is fantastic.

People are germphobic and ironically, that makes them more prone to infection and sickness. All that purell people use--it dries and cracks the skin, allowing easy access to your insides by evil microbes.

that makes sense. i have probably used purell hand sanitizer 5 times in my life and rarely wash my hands after peeing.

My wife and I consider this among the funniest things ever.

A friend of mine originally from Germany said that when she moved here, one of the first things that struck her as odd was the American sense of cleanliness. She showers every day AFAIK (I guess I never asked, but she's not my wife, she's someone else's, and that would be weird), but she doesn't wash her hair every day because she claims it will dry it out too much.
