If you were walking to Florida from Philly, you would pass through four states with higher per capita incomes than Florida on your way there. Five if you walked through Washington DC.

There's probably some big flaw in my logic, but I always think if I was homeless, I'd start walking South or West

It's gonna be pretty fucking cold in the South tonight.

It is not fit for humans in Philadelphia today
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

i realize how dumb it is now that i was eating a frosty earlier today. days like today are when you need hot chocolate. mind-numbingly cold and windy. my car almost didn't start up last night.

edit: one of the bad things about all this social networking is seeing old crushes and/or people you turned down and how hot they look now

Today isn't too bad here, but after tonight, the next three nights will be in the low teens.

honestly, i think the hard part about being homeless is just the being a drug addict/alcoholic part. i think if you had some stick-to-it-iveness you could make it somewhere nice within a few weeks of panhandling at the right places.

this post is probably ridiculously ignorant.

also i mean "relatively nice." nothing's really nice when you're homeless.
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

i think the big problem would be the professional panhandlers who suck up all the market share

I knew a guy who for a project in his sociology class didn't wash for a couple of days and then panhandled in Suburban Square in Ardmore. I don't know how much money he got, or if he was arrested or something.

anyone remember that blind lady that played the flute or recorder or whatever it was on south street? i mean, if you went there between 1990 and 2001 you've seen her.

Speaking of panhandling--I think the best way to go is to look semi-respectable, and make up some story about how your wallet was stolen and you need $5 or $10 for train or bus fare to get home. I think asking for a specific amount is the way to go. This way, people won't stick you with shitty convenience store sandwiches or other junk.

i think a better project would be figuring out where the best spots to panhandle are. i'm guessing either Suburban Station or 30th Street Station would be the best in Philly. plus no one gives a crap about those guys so you wouldn't get arrested. AND you'd be indoors.
