Heh.

First "naptime" involved Madeleine dumping all of her stuffed animals, pillows, blankets, the contents of three dresser drawers, and most of a package of wipes into Joey's crib.

Second time, we just put Joey down and she slept about 45 minutes and was cranky for most of the rest of the afternoon.

I usually get the train stuff dumped out on the floor, although the prize was when he pulled down all the Thomas decals I had just put up in his room, around the bed mostly. They had been up for one day. So now he just has plain walls.

The Kid has researched and found out about a build-your-own-Mario game for th PC called "Super Mario Brothers X". After he "earned" it, I downloaded it. And I must say, I'm quite amazed that this thing is out there and free. Basically you can drag-and-drop elements from five or six of the Mario franchise games and create your own levels. And it's pretty extensive- you can create warps to other levels; animate objects such as platforms to make them move; hide things and reveal them with trigger events; etc. All in all, it's pretty amazing, especially considering it's FREE. I also believe that there's a way to upload custom levels to a Wii, but the Wii must be "hacked" first- so if he really gets good, I'll get a cheap barebones used Wii to hack as to not risk our "primary" Wii...

I'm not much of a gamer (or really a gamer at all), but this is pretty impressive- and it's pretty neat watching an 8 year old's brain churn as he learns all about object attributes, triggers, events, and other facets of OOP. Now hopefully he won't make the same mistake his dad did and go into IT, but of course learning the tools will likely enable him in any endeavors he chooses....

That's cool. I think that Little Big Planet has that same element, but I don't know if it's the creating part or Mario part that gets him excited.

Just realized my jury duty Wednesday that precludes me from going to work from 3 to 11 Wednesday evening means I get an early weekend. And I get my city salary instead of the 9 bucks a day or whatever, which is great.

But now I'm confused, because I'm scheduled off Thursday and Friday. But scheduled for work Saturday and Sunday. So if I happen to get selected, I'm not sure if I get paid for Thursday and Friday or if I have to go to work Saturday and Sunday. I guess I just hope I don't get selected.
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

RT @SteveCase RT @BonnieFuller: So Lauren Bush is going to be Lauren Lauren now that she's marrying boyfriend David Lauren, son of Ralph.

I am guessing she won't take the name

She could take the actual family surname before Ralph changed it: L i p s h i t z.
