Someone should look at this more closely. While perhaps the bulk of NRA rank and file are typical hunters and perhaps the occasional "I want a gun to defend myself from bad guys" and these kind of people may be found in rural areas, especially the South, the militia joining shortwave radio listening (because you really can't trust the internet) gun nut survivalist is a narrow segment of the population and not overly concentrated in any one region of the country. And I bet most of them live in the suburbs.
