I've seen those shirts. None of my friends wear them. I don't think I'd be close buddies with someone wearing such a hip shirt.

In my political theory notes, I just wrote "A sovereign state is a state that is in control of its own density".

First non-busy day at work in about 4 months, complete with a long lunch in the park and some Walnut St strolling. Of course some wanker schedules a six o'clock meeting.

I'm trying to think of a word and Googling hasn't helped me. It's sort of like a portmanteau (a blend of two or more words). But this one has to do with the mispronunciation of a word eventually taken to be the correct pronunciation or one of several correct pronunciations. I think a good example of this is "vice versa" being pronounced "vice-a versa". What's the word for this? Or am I crazy? (Not mutually-exclusive.)

If you've ever worked on a versa, you know how tricky and intricate it can be. So it helps if you clamp it in a vise.

Anyone who tries to use it that I have the misfortune of encountering. Includes:

- Men
- Women
- Adults
- Children
- Talking animals

I had thought it had just become part of the vernacular. Maybe it's just a PA suburbs thing?

How crazy is life? My dad died when I was 9, and through Facebook I just caught up with one of his college buddies who lives in Alberta. My dad used to send him tapes two or three times a year - just playing harmonica (he was a folky), playing "DJ" - the music he was into at the time - talking a the beginning, middle, and end of the tapes, etc. Dude has all of the tapes - 54 of them (one from a month before he died), most of them are on cassette some on reel to reel - and he's going to give them to me.

Man, that is going to be a cosmic moment, hearing my dad's voice for the first time in 26 years.
“There are no cool kids. Just people who have good self-esteem and people who blame those people for their own bad self-esteem. “
