Help, please! I've been watching this pot for hours. Isn't it ever going to boil?

Is your stove on? Is the pot even on the stove?

I might set up my XBox today. I still haven't unpacked it from 2 months ago when I moved.

When TMNT was out on pay-per-view, I ordered it about 80 times without my parents knowing. (This was when you could order it from your remote by hitting SELECT and then ENTER when the pay-per-view channel was blinking.) Then the bill came. It finally explained to my parents how I knew every line to that movie. I remember telling them I thought it was paper view not pay-per-view. I think they bought it.

going to Nashville on Wed. Any must-sees, must-dos? As a history teacher I guess I should visit the Hermitage, but I'm not a big Jackson fan.

Just got back from a family reunion. Got stung in the ear by a freakin' yellow jack and it hurt badly. I hate bees. I'm glad they are all dying.

The Canseco line was also a favorite last night. Some other highlights:

"What Russian novel, embraces more than 500 characters, is set in the Napoleotic wars?"
"War and Peace."

"Where the heck is 122 1/8?"
"You're standing on it, Dude."

"Wise man say forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza."

"It's a Kodak moment."

"God, I hate punkers... Especially bald ones with green make-up who wear... masks over ugly faces."

"Fight?"
"Fight."
"Kitchen?"
"Kitchen.

"Wayne Gretzky on steroids?"
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

One of my earliest memories is running through an orange grove and getting stung on the ear by a bee. Some of the most intense pain I've ever experienced.

I'm 26, so for the next year, no.

There should be a third, but if it hasn't hit you yet at your age, the answer is probably "no".

I'm in Nashville, but I'm a bad person to ask. I spent the first 6 weeks buried in training and unpacking and the past few weeks going back and forth to PA to get married and running around to local schools to find a placement for the program I'm in. IOW, I haven't done anything fun here at all, though I hear there's a lot to do on West End near Vanderbilt (I live near there) and in East Nashville. Some of the people in my program were going to a bar called "3 crows" tonight in East Nashville, and I hear there's some other good bars near there, but I didn't go because I was home performing my honeymoon duties (nudge.nudge, know what I mean, know what I mean).

I'd offer to grab a beer or something with you, but Wednesday is my first day at the school and then we have meetings that night for the other part of the program. In fact, since I didn't get placed until Friday, most of the next 2-3 weeks will be a scramble trying to get prepared for the school year. They brought all of us down here, but then because of the economy, there were few spots open -- only 3 out of 11 in my subject area have been placed, so I'm one of the lucky ones.

But I'll pm you my phone number. Give me a call if you need anything and I'll try to help if I'm not in a meeting or something.

i'd like to make an announcement.
rita's now has swedish fish flavored water ice. it is awesome and you should definitely try it if the stars align and you get the chance. however, the taste of it can be a bit much, so try getting half swedish fish and half of another flavor so as not to be overwhelmed.

I'd like to thank all the ladies between 18 and 40 for their outfit choices last night at the Billy Joel Elton John concert. You made what could have been a very gay experience rather enjoyable. Thank you.
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Oh, I forgot something. If you want to go out, try to pick up a copy of "The Scene." It's a free paper that has all the music stuff for the week, and it's available online, I believe. I have to admit I've been disappointed with the music here. I've been trying to pay attention to who's playing in case I had a chance to go out and the selection has been pretty lame, unless you really like ultra-processed country music or cookie cutter singer songwriters. There's some decent bluegrass, but even the rock bands are very run of the mill. I knew the scene would be dominated by country music, but I thought there's be more unusual stuff. There have been a few decent bands come through, but they are not the norm and I wasn't able to make those shows. Philly has a much better and more diverse music scene.
