swimming pool or fresh cut grass
Why not just go storm Normandy and get shot in the face while you're at it
Why not get a plumbing license and run around high on shrooms stealing peoples' pocket change

So preliminary road trip look...

Astros at Cardinals Tuesday Aug 25th, 7:15 PM
Indians at Royals Wednesday Aug 26th, 1:10 PM
Dodgers at Rockies Thursday Aug 27th, 1:10 PM

Would be absolutely awesome to be able to get to three different parks in three days.

So I'm skimming through youtube and I stumbled onto a band with a girl in it that I almost hooked up with in NYC about 12 years ago. I never would have recognized her if not for her name because I guess she started out as some badass teen angst rocker. When I saw her, she was in a hawaiian/old timey ukulele band. What a strange transformation.

So much for subliminal advertising.

Might as well read, "BETTER THAN A BLOWJOB!"

Still a contender for best week of my life was late spring 1994, when I saw five games in five parks (the Vet, Camden Yards, Jacobs Field, Wrigley, Metrodome) in five days with my girlfriend at the time.

Pretty much everything about that week was amazing. That she was a big baseball fan (Twins; we were driving home from college, on her dad's dime) helped. We also just had some weird good luck--my uncle had promised to treat us to tickets for the game in Cleveland, for a game between the Brewers and Indians that we weren't especially excited about beforehand. But the seats were right behind the Brewers' dugout, which was pretty spectacular in the first year that Jacobs Field was open. What I didn't know at the time was that his wife's cousin was the Indians' VP for business development or some such--a guy named Dennis Lehman who had worked in the Phils' front office earlier.

And the game was superb--it went into I think the 12th inning, and the Indians won it on a monster Albert Belle HR. The Tribe are still my favorite AL team.

Getting a google alert to your inbox that a dude from your company was found dead in his shore house is really fucked up

I like writing resumes; it's the cover letters I hate, especially when you're trying for a creative writing job

Did he have a nice office? I'd stake a claim now and get out of that cubicle.
