Is he paying you at all? I helped my parents move, and dad gave me like $100 (I was in grad school). I later realized he was paying me less than he'd pay an illegal immigrant.

Weird but awesome, by the way. I don't know what it is (heh) but Dylan has gotten better every time I've ever listened to him. I've always liked him, but I like him more and more all the time. Maybe he's kind of an acquired taste, but only in the sense that he goes from "good" to "great" instead of "bad" to "good."

It's so refreshing to have project partners who are competent and actually respond to e-mails and text messages, and show up at group meetings, and put in a fair share of effort. They're one in a million, I'm telling you.

Do you think it's because when you first hear him his voice is so jarring and whiny and weird that you kinda think it sucks even though he's DYLAN so you know he doesn't suck exactly. And then after you listen to him for while the stuff that makes him Dylan becomes more clear and the jarring, whiny stuff fades away? Eh, maybe not. But that's how it worked for me I believe.

Hendrix was sort of like that too for me.

Dylan, I always thought was just a guy who had a specific audience. I guess I thought it was just a niche that was really popular, sort of how The Dead are (not that they're not good, but they certainly have a cult following).

I remember liking "Like a Rolling Stone" because I think the Stones released it back in the '90s and I probably heard it on the radio when I was a kid. I didn't really listen to Dylan until high school, when I listened to "Hurricane." I thought it was kind of a cool song, but now it's clear that there's way more to him than that.

I tried getting into his "classic" albums for a while in college, but it never really clicked except with Blood On the Tracks, which I've always loved.

I got back into him when the I'm Not There soundtrack came out and there were a bunch of bands I liked covering his stuff. I realized that in a lot of cases, the covers sound better than the originals, but I've always been of the opinion that in some senses the original can never be topped.

And now everything else is starting to click the way Blood on the Tracks first did.

I don't know, sometimes I put on John Wesley Harding and then I'm like, Ahh fuck it
