but they have plenty of 3-5 minute songs. that you could consider straight ahead rock and roll.

They don't though. Well, I should say that - I've never heard any of the so-called rock and roll songs. They have a sound that I can't put my finger on, I've heard it with other bands (a lot of local ones too) - there's like, a lack of punch or something. Maybe that's the mellow jam-appeal, but it all comes off as very vanilla and weary to me.

honest question.

If I uploaded 3 tunes for you, would you listen to them with an open mind and then tell me what you think?

I was genuinely intrigued to see what BigEd had put in the politics thread, and was let down.

I'm not going to argue that this isn't a rock and roll song, because I can't, so I'll withdraw my prior comment. Intellectually, I recognize that there are guitar solos and a fast pace and drums and all that stuff, but the song is just... missing something (besides a chorus... I know I know, I sensed there was one). My heart rate doesn't change, I can't imagine cranking this up or slapping my thigh to the beat or singing along. Like the guitar solo (admittedly I'm not a big fan of guitar solos anyway), it's just. I don't know. I guess it's all the highly technical masters degree in music stuff that my under-developed sense of ROCK ON can't wrap itself around.

And FWIW, I have a RIDICULOUS sound system attached to my PC, subwoofer and all, and I let it go full out. It just doesn't move me.

I almost posted something last night in the Thanks Pop thread about how swish's tribute to his dad made me tear up, but I didn't want to get made fun of for crying again.

That's cool. How's the splinter? Are babies fun? I ask because I'm getting the full court press from Spaghetti, ifyaknowhwatImean. (I'm talking about her wanting my sperm to fertilize her egg)

P.s. Congrats!

I didn't know the Steagles lived in Collingswood. I have a friend who lives in the 'jects on 9th and Ferry in Camden and I cut through there to get to 130 all the time (to get to Delran).

Bobby Chez crab cakes are slammin and Nunzio's is a real good restaurant that nobody knows about.
