If so, that pretty well explodes the whole idea that they all belong in the short bus of democratic participation, unless you're just dead certain he's the bright exception to the dim rule.

There are exceptions to every rule. Bucky as well apparently. But I imagine at this point the vast majority of undecided voters are low information individuals.

On C-SPAN before the debate, they were playing the Clinton/Perot/Bush "town hall" debate from '92. I saw the last 10 minutes or so, basically their closing statements. Mostly what I got was how unintentionally hilarious Perot was--he kept talking about "if you wanna have someone to talk and slow dance, I'm not yer man. If you want someone to do it, I'm yer man." But it did seem like Clinton, who went last, really was trying to seduce the whole room.

Nate Silver is gonna be on Colbert in about 20 minutes

And Silver just described the election as "McCain is down 2 runs in the 9th and Palin just got picked off first base". Sweet.

I DVRed the debate. I'm not missing bridge night (or game five if necessary of the NLCS) for live coverage. But should I watch it?

My computer is in my bedroom where my TV is not so it is hard to keep up. I can't read all those pages about the debate tonight so sorry if this was mentioned already.

But why was John McCain so wheezy? It sounded like he was constantly short on breath.

Hulu - Dana Carvey show... Hysterical

Most of the episodes are from just before the 1996 election.
I'm afraid you're just too darn loud.

I'm surprised no one is throwing a fit about McCain needing to write down the three options and taking notes all night.

Ha! I was also wondering how long before someone ascribed racist motives to McCain's "that one" comment - Andrea Mitchell wins!

is this the preamble to one of those "so which one is creepier?" polls?
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

"those people" meaning not like us people? Or just not one of "my friends"?

At least McCain didn't say "you people". I've heard some people take offense to that, but I don't know why.
