It's not better to start a new thread.

I say don't argue with your father in law. Find two or three things you don't hate about McCain or Palin and say those things if you must. Don't say anything bad about who you like. Respond in ways like "I know, a lot of people feel that way" and leave it be. In the grand scheme of things no battle of wills between the two of you will benefit you, be the better man and let him rant if he must. I know it's what I do in school and I've benefited from not giving my opinion to people who don't want it.

That doesn't serve his purposes, though. All The Mittster wants is to be president; to do that he needs to get nominated; coherence and policy goodies only get in the way of that goal.

If anything, he evidently needs to get better at spouting the talking points.

I might watch Palin's speech. Definitely no chance until then. Well, might flip over to watch some of my boy Rudy's speech. Pretty much just feel like drinking and watching Phils tonight, maybe putting together a guess at every football team's record this year. No desire to watch that crap.
