You know kind of karmic payback I get for this? Three or four nights sleeping on an aerobed.

We've had the sleep-number bed for four or five years now, and it's a good quality item... until the compressor breaks and all the air leaks out of the bed and you can't get it to refill. Then you get to wait three or four days for them to ship you a new one.

Bastards.

A bed is far too important to me to ever run the risk of mechanical malfunction.

I'd sooner rely on ...

Oh, crap , how do I convey the idea of digitally created toilet paper without it sounding even grosser than it is?

At work, we have a rule. Back office makes the coffee because if anyone else does it, it's puny, weak and gives brown water a bad name. Furthermore, the maker of sad 'coffee' will have scorn piled high on them.

This is what happens when said back office is full of international caffeine fiends.

On the bright side, you weren't there when it happened.

Putting your family on the train for the first time sucks mightily. I am not happy.

The name Sav Rocca popped into my head this morning when I was making my lunch. I guess I'm ready for football.

Was it in PA or NJ?

In Philly it's really not much worse than a jaywalking ticket while it's a felony in NJ. My two buddies got busted by the local police and even the FBI was involved. It's a shame, they were like 2 semesters away from graduating college and couldn't get a good job after that.

If you have the means and your book is big enough it's worth it to rent out a place in the city during prime season i.e. football and write everything down on rice paper next to a bucket of water (since rice paper dissolves in water).

Or so I've heard.

Thanks for the ten-pound phone book, Verizon. Maybe next year you can include a Beta-Max head cleaner.

My street got them yesterday, about 3 hours before we got 2 inches of rain. So now there are a bunch of thirty-pound phone books on people's stoops.

Mine is sitting in the common door to my building, which faces the street and can be opened by anyone. I've set the over/under at four months before it's eaten by rats or drunks.
