This is my first ever post from my Macbook.

And now I'm editing it from my PC. I am supposed to be the young, cool dude who knows everything about computers, but I don't. I got an iPod touch 8G along with the Macbook, but what am I supposed to do to get my iTunes library from my PC to my Mac?

easiest, i'd think would be sharing the library via a wireless network. next best option is an external harddrive. then comes burned DVDs, CDs.

i'm sure you'll figure it out. i got my macbook more than a year ago, and i still haven't imported my entire music collection, yet.

Oh. I'm replying to a Steagles post. Um. OK.

id invest in a 1TB external hard drive. Pricey ($275 or so), but worth the investment. You can copy everything to it from the PC, plug it into the Mac and drag/drop. I have 3 externals, all Western Digitals, and Ive never had a problem. Plus, its nice to have backup storage. If you have less stuff and don't feel like you'll need the space, a 250 gig should work, and those should be dirt cheap nowadays.

So there is no way to just plug in my old iPod and have it load all the songs onto the Mac? I didn't think there was, but whatever. Then again, this is all new to me. I probably won't even need my iTunes anymore now that I have a laptop. I can probably just bring my Touch with me and listen to that through earphones or whatnot.

But what about getting the message that my iPod is already synced with another one. What do I do in that case?

"Connect your iPod to your new computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button."

doesnt do that???

I have to go to a Coldplay concert tonight with my wife. I have thought of ways to fake my own death but I am not clever enough to pull any of them off.

To make things worse, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Coldplay isn't exactly the type of concert where we can smoke a couple J's.

Kill me now.

You can make it happen.

I bet the concert won't be so bad. Probably have a decent light show.

I think I have convinced myself that working from home is a good idea.

If you're not travelling somewhat frequently (at least once a week), it's not a good idea. It seems like a good idea, but it's not. Not at your age. You become too disconnected from everything going on at the office. Info is power. Plus we all could use more social interaction.

On the plus side, you can see every single Law & Order over the course of about 8 months if you take a lunchtime break organized around TNT's schedule. Or so I've heard.
