Hilary's dad and brother played football at Penn State?!?!

This I did not know. Or is she lying?

She misspoke - Dad cut the grass and brother was equipment manager.

They did. Paterno apparently gave it some thought before not endorsing her.

That was in response to me because I thought his appearance was a hollow gimmick.

Obama isn't squeaky clean when it comes to lobyists and PACs

He's also introduced bills that benefit lobying interests (like tariff suspensions for Astellas Pharma) and crafted bills in consult with corporate reps not registered as lobyists (like import fee exemptions for Nufarm).

He plays the game. He's as much a "politician" as the others.

True, but it doesn't make his points any less valid.

Dajafi, I haven't really followed Bloomberg too much, so I can't comment on that.

Personally, considering my doubts on Obama being immune to lobbyists, there's little difference between McCain, Clinton, and Obama because the President really has little effect on the way things are run; things are actually run by big businesses, as we have seen prominently displayed by the Bush administration. This country is owned by the oil, pharmaceutical, and insurance industries, and the biggest industry in this country is debt.

Yes, i agree. And sadly, only the Repiblicans and neo-cons DO exaggerate the office of president -- Bush II has made more executive orders (to circumvent congress) than all prior presidents combined.

It depends from what standpoint and what lense you are using to try to differentiate the 3, there are some very subtle differences and a few less so. The people McCain will place in power, the justice dept appointees. Bush II so decimated so much of what had been the basics, gutted so much Bill of Rights, and other things -- that no Dem is going to reverse it and once again, as did Reagan, they appointed young conservatives to the Supreme Court who will continue to do their bidding even if we had a landslide Dem House, Senate and Prez...

Nader appealed to people as did Jesse in the 80's as did Kucinich a little bit, because they spoke to systemic change. Oddly, the masses don't seem to embrace or get it, they find those voices hyperbolic and extreme and prefer to remain in a tv-induced stupor ... and live with the status-quo which is a slow death to a system that can't sustain itself and self perpetuate indefinitely. No one wants to be the last person buying in to the pyramid scheme, but no one thinks they will be.

Bill Clinton got in there with suppsedly a mandate, and instead of giving us reforms and health care, he gave us Bombing of Bosnia, NAFTA and GATT which all failed under Bush I. He presided over the early years of the emerging dot.com bubble but I can't say he had anything much to do with it.

No president goes in and act their conscience, of course Bush doesn't have one. They are part of a system a machine and are mostly a figure-head that talk in platitudes and broad generalities and when needed, sound byte manipulation for the masses.

Hillary running Bush-esque scare tactic ads

"He wasn't the President's wife!" seems to be her only tactic

Ask and ye shall receive.

That's crap for Clinton, BTW. If she wins by four she should drop out. Though I'd be surprised if she only wins by four.

the spin has been 'any win is a win' in the past week, whether it's by the original 20 from 7 weeks ago, or the 4 nowadays

Meanwhile, NRO has Obama up 5. That would be depressing.

I wanted exit polls, but I didn't want conflicting ones. 8 o'clock is soon enough, I suppose.

Update from Fox News via Time: Gun owners — Clinton 58, Obama 42; College degree — Obama 54, Clinton 46; Made unfair attacks — Clinton 67, Obama 49.

If Hillary only won gun owners by 16%, she's not gonna win by double digits. Indeed, she'd be lucky to win by single digits given data point number two.

Be of good cheer, Jersey. Exit polls are not exactly dead on balls accurate.

I'm starting to get real worried that the Dems have managed the impossible and f'd themselves for November.

Have there been any recent head to head polls?

You really can't put much stock in polls this early out. For the most part, McCain is getting a free ride at this point. That's not going to continue.
