The ONE AND ONLY Politics Thread

The ONE AND ONLY Politics Thread

Postby VoxOrion » Mon Apr 14, 2008 17:13:41

Politics talk is like cancer. Everyone is happy and no one is missing the politics. Then someone starts a thread and it's all "we can do this" and then six months later there are ten of them and a year later the board is dead. We're about two weeks away from our first ADD MORE LIES!!!! thread.

Keep your filthy pass-time here.

What about locking the tax thread? That's kind of political.

You know, why even bother? Just ban political talk all-together. Or just ban me for starting the first thread on it.

so uh liberal elitist america hater obama is actually polling better than clinton in vaunted Michigan (you know, where Clinton claims 'victory' despite Obama not being on the ballot):
THE NUMBERS - MCCAIN VS. CLINTON

John McCain, GOP, 46 percent

Hillary Rodham Clinton, Democrat, 37 percent

Ralph Nader, Independent, 10 percent

Undecided, 7 percent

THE NUMBERS - MCCAIN VS. OBAMA

Barack Obama, Democrat, 43 percent

John McCain, GOP, 41 percent

Ralph Nader, Independent, 8 percent

But she wants the delegates to count...

And we all know where all those Nader votes will go. 10% of the population won't vote for Nader. It's like people saying they won't vote for Hillary or Obama if one of them loses. They will, once they're at that voting booth. And no one REALLY wants to see Ralph Nader as president.

Finding two people who weren't pissed off doesn't really mean they couldn't find anyone who was.

For the longest time, I thought that thread on PP was about pinochle (or maybe it was pistachios). Damn, now I'm craving pistachios.

Bill Jefferson Clinton is speaking at Phoenixville High School today. I almost thought about skipping out of work to catch it. Almost.

This might be why you're a Republican. I saw ordinary people in that commercial, not ugly people.

And I'm an Obama supporter, FWIW.

It..just..shows..how..out..of..touch..Barack..Obama..is

I saw that commercial last night and I was cracking up at how freakin' canned it was. I loved how Clinton got booed at that meeting yesterday. Meanwhile, Obama got laughs a plenty with his Annie Oakley lines.

anybody know a good site that can estimate how much it would cost me, Mr. Joe Bottle of Wine - your typical everyman who makes 6 figures, should Obama win and roll back the taxes to pre Bush levels?

Did you want a detailed analysis of the ad? I just wrote a little quip that I thought might make people a little more likely to click on the youtube, while getting a shot in at Pennsylvania.

Maybe you're right though. Republicans are known for prizing beauty over all else. That's why we nominated John McCain, who I think if he wasn't running for president, would probably be the Playgirl cover model this month.

Actually, I really haven't had a problem with you before, so what I said was over the top.

But whatever "brownie points" Republicans think they may deserve for nominating the rough-looking McCain, they have a lot to make up for for all the jokes and photo-shopped pictures of Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Chelsea Clinton, etc.

I'm sure Democrats do that stuff too - but the amazing frequency of this stuff on your side of the aisle is just one more things that makes me think a lot of Republicans, especially white males under 50 or so, are just frat boys who never grew up.

But that may be an unfair description of you, so, sorry for the shot.
