It's closing. Cities do tend to come in last.

What I'm enjoying is watching Hillary's lead shrink in NJ. I know she won the state, but Obama's getting a lot of delegates there (and in NY).

Jeff, Obama keeps falling further behind #s wise in NJ.

No. It's now 53-44.

Yeah, but Hillary is winning by almost 80k as opposed to 40k an hour ago. The % is closing, but it's just Hillary winning areas by less.

I gotta be honest...that makes no sense to me.

They also leave limits on free speech in their wake thanks to the aforementioned speech codes and their intense overreaction to religious issues.

Americans don't like McCain because he's a war hero.

Untenable. Both of his presidental campaigns were based on this, even he and his marketing people knows this.

I've never heard people say that. It's not about criticizing him. It's liking him or not. People like him.

I disagree. You were complaining about talk radio earlier, tune in tomorrow and listen to the callers, you will not hear people who like him. Giuliani people (center left Republicans) didn't like him until they didn't have their first choice, the Huckabee and Romney people don't like him, and much of his "support" is coming from the same strategic perspective that got Kerry the nomination - people aren't excited about him or like him, they think he can beat Hillary and Obama. It's strategy, not a vote of like/dislike.
You don't seem to be reading what I'm writing. Romney slammed Dole and McCain said that saying what he said about a war hero was undignified.

Exactly. Criticizing Dole is not allowed because Dole is a war hero. Identity politics through and through. McCain has been doing this for 8 years now.

It's like if a baseball team was winning after four innings 7-3, and ended up winning 10-5.

After four innings, team A had 70% of the runs, but was winning by four.

After nine innings, team A only had 67% of the runs, but was winning by five.

So on the Demo side, what it really comes down to is California. Delegate totals will basically be split. Both candidates have won states that they should have. Both worked in a surprise (Clinton with Massachusetts, Obama with Connecticut). The big prize in California though. Even though the delegate totals will essentially be even, will winning the statewide total in California be the last big chip to deciding who came out on top on Super Tuesday? Am I out of line thinking this?

OTOH, us Keystone Staters are getting closer and closer to having a meaningful primary. If this Clinton/Obama battle drags out, PA will be the last big primary. And given that it is nearly a month after the previous primary, PA has the potential to be "Iowa on Steriods" as I read somewhere along the lines this week.

Wow, you were a Bush backer 4 years ago, no? I thought you were pretty much signed sealed and delivered republican.

No, I understand that. I don't understand how that is relevant to the original point which was the splitting of the delegates.

Oh.

I guess my point is Hillary is still carrying most of the state. Looking at it, I think Obama might have won Don Payne's district. Maybe one or two others, but I think Hillary will end up winning 10 or 11 of the 13 statewide.

It will be tough. I'm an Obama supporter but think that if the process draws out to PA then he's in trouble. Clinton already has the support of Rendell, Michael Nutter, and Democratic Party Chairman TJ Rooney. Places like Northeastern PA will be tough for Obama to crack because HRC actually has some family ties to the area.

As interesting it would be to see a meaningful presidential primary in PA, I can't really see a way that it would be meaningful for Obama unless he carries a wave of momentum from winning places like Texas and Ohio.

I think Shore is Exhibit A in the case against George W. Bush destroying the Republican party.

Clinton's only carried 60% or more in one state - Arkansas - while Obama might do it in 6.

And he's not a clam.
