He is right. They probably should have been waving for 4 hours straight.

An old wiley veteran with nothing left in the tank starting a game for the pennant. That set up is straight out of the movies "Rookie of the Year" and "Angels in the Outfield".

Eaton finished the year one out shy of the 162 innings needed to qualify for the ERA "lead." So the worse ERA of the NL belongs to our friend Scott Olson :-D

what's hilarious is that he was so bad that he couldn't reach the innings requirement despite never really being hurt all season and being benched for like 2 starts.

That is truly pathetic. Thankfully he wont be pitching again this year, playoffs or not. I dont know how he can even look at his teammates after his performance this year.

Yes Yes, the players have emotoins, and they are so easily swayed that seeing adam eaton pitch makes all their bats silent against ADAM FUCKING CHICO...it also makes them stupid and impatient at the plate...leads to bad fielding and bad base running mistakes...

That's right folks, the phillies are so fragile that if a quesitoinable starter is on the mound they'll just forget how to do what they've been doing for decades against a mediocre pitcher and a mediocre team.

The game was decided the moment Eaton took the mound it was so devastating to everyone else that their psyches just cracked

Interestingly enough, it seemed to have little impact on most of the people brought in to pitch after Eaton.

In fact, a couple of them came in and got out of jams...so i guess the phillies pitchers psyches are just straonger than the everyday players.

When Eaton is the #5 pitcher starting next year it's going to be funny

Mrs. Beezer told me that she saw an article that said the Mets have a chaplain to pray for them, and that the Mets now believe that God is on their side... as the closest thing to clergy on the board, everybody pay attention now:

LET US PRAY,

GRACIOUS GOD, SMILE UPON THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES,
GRANT THEM NO INJURIES,
GRANT THEM SUCCESSFUL FIELDING,
AND GRANT HOWARD, UTLEY, BURRELL AND ROWAND THE POWER TO SWING AND THE WISDOM TO DETERMINE WHEN TO SWING.
GRANT ROLLINS THE ABILITY TO DO IT ALL.
HEAR NOT THE PRAYERS OF THE METS OR THEIR FANS
FOR THEY ARE LIKE THE RATS THAT FEAST ON DEAD CARCASSES;
THEY CARE ONLY FOR THEIR INSIDIOUS SURVIVAL.
RISE UP THESE PHILLIES, O LORD, AND THROW DOWN YOUR WRATH UPON THESE METS.

TOGETHER WE PRAY... AMEN.
Together we will win this game against the evil Space Yankees! Eat Fresh!

i'm not sure pointing the finger at the offense is worthwhile, considering with an average offense they might be hoping to reach .500 tomorrow and not the playoffs

I caught Phillies fever, but it feels more like the flu.
