Pleasant surprise to see rivera struggle

after all, he's pitched saw-well against the phils in the past

</rimshot>

rausch? little early for that manny, but do what you gotta do to hold onto 4th place or whatever
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

So scoring runs is actually better than potentially scoring runs...

Well, you know, that home run thing leaves no one on base, so it's you know, a rally killer. :wink:

I also think McCarver said "Geary" when Lohse fielded that grounder

yeah, he's the MVP.

Follows up his bonehead pickoff with two straight first pitch ground outs. One a DP after the pitcher had been walked on four pitches.

Probably tough to hit against a guy who's more than a foot taller than you... Rollins hit it hard. Fick, generally an atrocious fielder, couldn't quite screw that up for us.

They've played really tight today. Really, really tight.

I see a pile of sawdust around home plate. Gotta grip the bat a little tighter.

I've seen that sort of thing before, but I struggle to understand how a guy paid MILLIONS to play this simple game refuses (it has to be an active decision) to do sensible things to help his team win.

I'm with Smitty on the overstatement of players or teams playing small when the chips are down, but Rollins play today lends a lot of ammo to those prone to making that kind of judgement.
