I don't think Morin is on the team next year.
We definitely have too many defenseman. I wonder what the Gudas contract is going to look like. I'm guessing 3/6. Think he's the perfect 6th/7th defenseman especially for a playoff series.
Schultz is probably the most tradeable and he's coming off a pretty good playoff series.
The key is trying to trade Streit. Basically frees up Schenn's extension. 5.25 for 1 year but he is not good.
AMac is untradeable. He's going back to the AHL.

Offensively, there's no need to overreact to this playoff series. In next year's playoffs, you theoretically have Coots and Konecny. That's 2 Top-6 scorers. Having said that, I think the key to elevating our status as a club is acquiring another scorer. At the deadline, I was interested in Radim Vrbata. Still am if the price is right.
I'm done with Matt Read. Hextall needs to get rid of this slug. 3.6 cap hit over the next 2 years. Tough, not impossible.

Well with the cap space they have at the moment there really aren't any options. I know they are going to buy out Umberger, but not sure how much cap space they will end up with.

Streit is the guy that needs to go to free up cap space and a roster spot for one of the prospects

I think Streit was really laboring late in the year, I'm betting it was the groin or another injury.

That said, given Hextall's wizardry (he traded Chris fucking Pronger for God's sake), I doubt he'll have issues moving Streit to a club looking for a vet and PP2 point guy

I like Gudas too, he's not a top pairing d guy, but as like the #5 guy he's great. Heavy shot that he's not afraid to fire away, big body that he throws around, he's willing to be the enforcer which is great because he's not a liability like some of these ass clowns we've had lately.

not sure the advantage of signing him long term cause i think that's his ceiling. two years sounds good.
