who knows. vets like grossman, medvedev, engelland (who blows), klein, roman polak are hovering around $3M/yr figure. in a perfect world we'll have like 4 legit bangers on the blue line at rookie deals so you kind of could extend for a vet like gudas, but i wouldn't want to go too long.

The money that any team could offer him was the same since he'd be on an ELC. It had to be all about PT. He wasn't going to get top six ice time here and probably didn't want to be on the third line. Even on the Flyers bottom six, with Leier, Konecny, NAK and Lindblom, he'd be in a tough race for third line time.
Personally, I think that he'd been better off here where his former coach is and in a system that he knows. So he goes to the Oil grease fire where they'll be a SC contender at about the time that his career starts to take a Read-ish trajectory and he's off the top six in Edmonton.
