Goddamit, they had me come in to work to sit at the reference desk so the people at this exhibition opening could see the library if they wanted, but so far not one person has come upstairs and most likely not one person will. Grr.

I don't know what you're talking about, but one of funniest/most depressing things I've heard this year was when I was talking to one of my older friends and ended a monologue by saying, "Guess I'll just chalk it up to being 24 and stupid." Get this--my daughter tells her teacher she doesn't like the cafeteria lunch today. She asks the teacher (who is nice, but this is her first full year as a teacher) to call my wife to bring a lunch in. The teacher actually does this. Mrs. Vulture is not happy.
