Hopefully JPC. Russell isn't expected to be the leader of the Cubs

Russell is dipping less so he may get the edge

That sounds like an argument for Russell. Dude is going to be in the same lineup as Bryant and Rizzo--2 guys who should be in the top 10 of mlb hr's and OPS for the next 5-8 years. If Javy Baez and/or Soler click, then man, he's going to get a chance to face lots and lots of relief pitching and will feast on fastballs. And Schwarber...it never ends.

I would go with Russell. Love JP, but his upside isn't as high. Russell has better speed and power. And he's shown some of it at the big league level. JP hasn't done anything yet.

While Crawford hasn't proved anything at the ML level, a fellow rookie SS we had back in 2001 posted this in his first full season:

.274/.323/.419, .145 ISO, 6.7% BB rate, 15% K rate

Russell in his first full season, he posted these numbers:

.242/.307/.389, .147 ISO, 8.0% BB rate, 28.5% K rate

I know Russell has power potential, but it remains to be seen if that ever comes to fruition.

Keep in mind those seasons resulted in a very similar OPS+

But so far only one has resulted in a record label, I think.

If we're doing most likely to start a record label, JPC has got this

Schuerholz is stepping down as Braves president and will become an advisor as vice chairman. He'll be replaced by two people: Derek Schiller (president of business) and Mike Plant (president of development)
