I turn my head and then Eickhoff? Phillies random thoughts

McWilliams was one of our overslot high school guys couple years ago. He's really tall but a ways away and this is more creative than signing harang or Jerome so I'm into it

This move will make or break Klentak for the rest of his time here. Book it.

Hellickson is good when he commands his control. Fastball, change-up, curve combo. Changes speeds well when he's on his game.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

I'm just glad we didn't give up Cardenas or Brown

Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

Kinda where I am with it. Can see the merit in it, but betting on him reverting back to actually being good is a bit of a gamble.

I think it all depends on how the prospect we gave up does. If he puts it together and turns into an all-star or a front end of the rotation starter, then this trade will look very bad. If he ends up anything less, then nobody will even care. Of course, we could also win the trade if hellickson turns it around and pitches well enough to get us something useful. We could end up with two or more prospects with upside instead of one.

Adding up the probabilities, I'm going to say it was a good trade since I think it's more likely than not that we'll either win it or end up not caring because nobody pitches well.

I'm gonna say good trade because I like the philosophy. A GCL guy for a big league pitcher. I like it. It might not work out. But we know that pitching is a funny game. We got a guy who can step right in to a rotation that has some holes right now. We have some youngsters who might work out but having a seasoned guy who is still young could help a lot.

I've already forgotten the name of the prospect we sent to Arizona. Nobody will remember him when it's all said and done.

He was actually great in July then bad in August, September, and October so that's a little deceiving.

yep, two things we were sorely missing last year. this will help the bullpen and the team overall just by him being competent. if he puts it all together again, then it's a great deal.
