Actually, I was making about $10/hr when I started posting in that thread. I've close to tripled my income in ~6 years.

it was a cool collection of pals who were at a pretty shitty place in life, except pperc, i guess, who is probably making a lot of money with his Chemistry PhD somewhere.

i was working 2 shitty jobs i hated and now i work 2 great jobs that i love. need to triple my income like you.

if he got a chemistry PhD i can guarantee he is makine $13.50 an hour doing data entry for 60 hours a week

i'm kinda kidding but not really. when i was looking for jobs in boston, Novartis had a bunch of jobs available (they just built a new facility) and like half of them were asking for PhD level experience for a 6 month contract position at $28-32/hr.

yeah, i know. it's basically the same way with meteorology unless you work your ass off and become a tenured professor or get a sweet gig somewhere forecasting for crops or some other commodity.
